About
Manage and Operate Special Coal Transportation Routes
PT Servo Lintas Raya (SLR) currently manages and operates a 118 km special coal transportation route, which connects the coal mines in Lahat and Muara Enim regencies to the PT Swarnadwipa Dermaga Jaya (SDJ) Port in Pali Regency.
This road is a dedicated “all-weather” hauling road, measured at 13 meters wide, it accommodates two 2×70 tons trailers going in the opposite direction, operating 24×7 nonstop, the road is traversed by more than 2,500 trucks, boasting an impressive delivery capacity of approximately 50 million tons of coal annually, and provides a robust and dependable link to the region’s coal resources, ensuring that coal can be transported year-round.
The route is supported by 40 bridges and one underpass, ensuring seamless connectivity and structural integrity throughout the transportation corridor. These bridges and underpass are crucial for navigating the challenging terrain and maintaining an uninterrupted coal flow to the port.
The robust design and dependable construction of these infrastructure elements are critical for the continuous transportation of coal, especially during adverse weather conditions or seasonal changes. This infrastructure not only ensures safe and reliable coal transport but also minimizes the risk of delays and damages, which can disrupt the supply chain.
The road crosses 52 villages, 11 sub-districts, and 3 regencies, serving as the only reliable logistical route for coal transportation in the area.
Looking ahead, PT Servo Lintas Raya is committed to further improving the coal transportation infrastructure in South Sumatra. This additional infrastructure will complement the existing 118 km coal hauling road and improve access to even more remote coal mining sites in the region.
Facility Upgrade
- Additional Chipseal 36 km
As part of its commitment to improving road infrastructure, PT Servo Lintas Raya has begun the progress of the second phase of chipseal work covering 36 km. Chipseal is a road surfacing method that combines liquid asphalt with small stone aggregates to create a more durable surface with better grip, especially in wet conditions. This chipseal project is targeted for completion by the end of 2025.
- Add 6 new Bridges
PT Servo Lintas Raya continues to accelerate the progress of bridge construction to support more efficient, reliable, and sustainable logistics services. Of the six bridge projects currently underway, four are set for completion in 2025, while the remaining two will be finished in the early quarter of 2026. Once all construction is completed, each bridge along PT SLR’s hauling road will have two lanes.
- Feeder Road 2 dan 3
PT Servo Lintas Raya is planning the construction of feeder roads 2 and 3, connecting mines in the surrounding area to the main hauling road. This plan will extend along both the left and right sides of the main route. This initiative will provide a wider roadway for coal logistics flow and support the growth of mining businesses in the region.
The planned facility upgrade will help extend SLR’s logistical network, allowing coal to be transported more efficiently from mines in the Lahat area to the main hauling road, and eventually to the PT Swarnadwipa Dermaga Jaya Port.
